It depends entirely on what your home needs.
A grab bar or handrail is a very different expense from changing a bathroom or creating an easier entrance. That is why we prefer to look at the home before anyone starts making a long shopping list.
We can help you separate what would be useful now from what could wait until later. You may find that the changes that matter most are not the most expensive ones.escription

That’s exactly what we help you look at. Around the PNW, many homes have stairs, split levels, narrow bathrooms, sloped driveways or entries that can become harder to manage over time. We look at how you use your home today and what changes could help it continue to fit your life in the years ahead.
-
Usually, no. In many Northwest homes, a few well chosen changes can go a long way. That might mean improving an entry, adding support in the bathroom, changing lighting for our darker winter months or making a frequently used part of the home easier to access. We help you focus on what will actually make a difference for you.
-
We start with your daily routine. Maybe the front steps are becoming more difficult, the bathroom feels tight, or getting from the garage into the house is not as easy as it once was. We look at the places you use most and help you decide where a change would have the greatest impact.
-
That’s perfectly fine. In fact, learning about your options before you need them can be incredibly helpful. You might decide to make one small change now and keep the rest in mind for later. It is much easier to think through a bathroom, an entry or a set of stairs before there is an urgent reason to change it.
-
Yes. And we can have that conversation without assuming the answer is either staying or moving. A home in Seattle, Shoreline, Bellevue or Snohomish County can present very different challenges depending on its age, layout and location. We can look at what staying home would realistically involve and help you compare that with your other choices.
-
Senior Spaces does not expect you to start calling contractors and figuring it all out yourself. We help connect you with professionals who understand the kind of work your home needs, including Certified Aging in Place Specialists when appropriate. Whether it is a grab bar, a safer entry or a larger bathroom project, we help you get to the right people.

Then we help you look at what comes next. Because Senior Spaces also works with senior living communities and adult family homes throughout Western Washington, you do not have to start over with a completely different company. We already know your priorities, your concerns and what matters most to you. We can help you explore the next option with that same understanding.
-
You may be able to.
Stairs are part of a lot of homes in Western Washington. We have split levels, daylight basements, homes built into hillsides and bedrooms that are nowhere near the main living area.
The important question is not simply whether you have stairs. It is how you use them. We look at what is upstairs, what is downstairs and whether your daily routine could work differently. Sometimes a better railing is enough. Sometimes it makes sense to create more of your everyday living space on one floor.
-
Then we should be able to talk about that honestly too.
Some homes are harder to adapt than others. A steep driveway, several levels, a difficult entrance or a major construction project can make you wonder whether staying there still makes sense.
We can look at the whole picture with you. What could realistically be changed? What would those changes accomplish? Would you feel good about making that investment?
Our goal is not to make your house work at any cost. It is to help you figure out whether it can continue to be the right home for you.description
